VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

The Salvation Army is currently in need of bell ringers during the holidays. Also, it still needs stockings to be stuffed with small toys, candy, socks, gloves and other great stocking stuffers. If interested, please contact the Salvation Army at 322-8061.

** The 2nd annual Cookie Walk netted over $600 for FUMC Children's Ministries.
** Twenty-nine pints of blood were given during the Dec. 2 FUMC blood drive.
** One hundred shoe boxes were contributed by FUMC to the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child.

When ice and snow arrive, First UMC will announce any cancellations on TV channels WSOC-9, WBTV-3, or WCNC 6/36.

WEEKDAY SCHOOL

The FUMC Weekday School is enjoying a very successful year and has begun preparing for next year. Registration for FUMC members for the 2008-2009 year will be January 2-18. The classes to be offered are as follows:

One Year Olds (12 months before Oct. 16)
- two to five days per week.

Two/Three Year Olds (24 months before Oct. 16)
- two to five days per week.

Three Year Old Preschool (3 years old before Oct. 16)
- TTH or MWF.

Four Year Old Preschool (4 years old before Oct. 16)
- MWF or MTWTHF.

First United Methodist Church is now offering you the opportunity to make your contributions without writing a check. With your authorization, on the same day each month (as close to the 25th as possible – but not before) we will automatically debit your checking or savings account in the amount you designate. At any time, with only a few days notice, you may change or cancel your authorization – you retain CONTROL throughout the process.
