UNITED METHODIST WOMEN

United Methodist Women is a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative supportive fellowship and to expand concepts of mission participation in the global ministries of the church.

The members use Bible Studies, the UMW Prayer Calendar and the UMW magazine, RESPONSE, as resources. Members address homelessness, hunger, poverty, racism, illiteracy, war and peace and health care for children. Members strive to expand the concepts of mission through mission education and interpretation. Members take part in hands-on mission opportunities, mission studies and offer financial gifts in support of these efforts. More than 90 members have a creative and supportive fellowship.

There are 5 United Methodist Women Circles at FUMC Hickory. The Circles meet from September to May at various times and days of the week. For more information contact Daphne Montgomery (ddmont12@gmail.com) or call the church office 828-322-6058.
