Here at First UMC, we believe that worship is at the very core of our faith journey. It is in worship and through worship that we not only talk about Christ, but we worship God through, music, prayer and preaching. We have multiple opportunities each week for worship.

**Breaking News for your Church**

Bishop Paul Leeland and Bishop Hope Morgan Ward have suspended worship and large gatherings at all United Methodist Churches in North Carolina. Please see our updates page for the latest information.

We will have livestream worship each Sunday at 10:00 am with some music and sermon. Please click here to join us for worship!

8:00 am in the Sanctuary each Sunday is a casual worship service in a traditional setting. We preach the word, sing hymns (of the congregation’s choosing), and pray with one another.

11:00 am worship in the Sanctuary is a more formal worship experience that includes traditional liturgy, hymns, and a full choir.

9:00 am in the Christian Life Center is The Vine. This contemporary service includes a full praise band and modern Christian songs in a more relaxed atmosphere.

8:30-9:45 am in the Community Room is a time of fellowship around the table. Whether you worship early, late, or in between, Sunday family breakfast gives us an opportunity to be together.

10:00-10:45 am provides opportunities for learning and spiritual growth in various classrooms throughout our campus. Click on the following links to learn more about our Sunday School programs: Adults, Youth, and Children.

During the year we have special worship services in our Chapel, Parable Garden Chapel, Sanctuary, and Christian Life Center. We will be branching out to have worship in other places and spaces in the Hickory area as we grow in our outreach to the community.
